Bake Box

There’s no doubt that the Great British Bake Off has inspired each and every one of us to spend more time in the kitchen and now, with this brand new subscription service, it’s even easier to create your very own showstopper. I’m so excited to share with you the new Bake Box that has launched this month. If you’re a regular with recipes, would like to spend more time in the kitchen with the kids, or you’re simply a first-time baker, Bake Box is the ultimate inspiration.

Not only will the subscription help you build up a whole host of new skills in the kitchen, but with each box, you’ll also receive over £40 worth of bespoke, top-of-the-range baking equipment. It’s the first of its kind to become available in the UK and can be yours for a bi-monthly cost of only £14.99. With each subscription, you’ll also receive exclusive access to the Bake Club Site, where you can enjoy masterclass videos, bonus recipes, and see the wonderful creations made by the rest of the Bake Club community!

Bake Box

Each box is themed and contains everything that you will need to create six new bakes, including a range of bakeware and fully illustrated recipe cards. These cards will demonstrate two hero recipes, one show stopping cake recipe, one dessert recipe and two easy recipes that are great to make with children. Bake Box has also teamed up with Rainbow Dust to offer their subscribers cake decorating products that are used by the professionals! The boxes are sent out every other month, so it really is such a fantastic service to land on your doorstep and such a lovely idea for a gift if you know an avid baker.

In this month’s Bake Box, the theme is Spots and Stripes. It’s full of six recipes for you to create two stunning desserts, a cake for a special occasion, tasty everyday treats and simple ideas for decorating fairy cakes. The equipment alone includes:

  • A spotty silicone swiss roll mat
  • A decorative swirl silicone bundt mould
  • Stripy and spotty stencils
  • Icing nozzle and piping bag
  • Dress cookie cutter
  • Plunger cutters
  • Sugarcraft cutter with interchangeable wheels
  • Rainbow Dust ProGel in pink

So, feeling inspired, I decided to start of simple by decorating some biscuits…

Bake Box

I used Niomi Smart’s Gingerbread Biscuit Recipe, which I’ve been wanting to try for a while. The recipe uses coconut palm sugar, which won’t spike your blood sugar like caster does, and also black molasses. This stuff looks like a jar full of tar, but it’s full of iron and many people actually take a small spoonful daily in order to reap its health benefits. The biscuits are lovely, they taste just like normal gingerbread and have that great biscuit ‘snap’ when you break them in half.

For the icing, I reached for the pink Rainbow Dust gel in my Bake Box, which was amazing – totally hassle-free and such a concentrated colour. My Mum always complains about decorating colour staining her fingers, so she was eyeing this up big time. The piping back was so easy to use and so easy to wash up as well, which I think is just as important when it comes to baking!

I honestly had so much fun in the kitchen this weekend with Bake Box and I can’t wait to try out some more of their exclusive techniques and recipes!
